Flat Lay Content Day
Washington, DC
I had an amazing opportunity to participate in a workshop all about flat lays and how to style them to produce an eye-capturing image. To put it simply, a flat lay is an image taken from directly above. It’s a bird’s eye view that captures an arranged set of objects that are styled on a flat surface. Flat lays arrangements can vary from food to fashion, but in this workshop, the focus was on wedding invitation suites and details.
Having had no experience with styling flat lay designs, I definitely learned so much from this workshop. I’m pretty sure I was the only newbie photographer in the class (most other photographers had been in weddings for at least three or four years), so I felt very intimidated at first. But it was fun to get to know some of them and learn from them as well. I can’t wait to apply what I learned to my photography and improve my skills and designs!
