Trump Winery Grand Hall Surprise Proposal

Her palms were sweating. Her body was shaking. Her heart was racing. Kate had just been asked the biggest question of her life, yet her answer was easy. The anticipation of this day couldn’t have been more nerve-wracking for Frank, but he seemed calm regardless. After a year of dating, Kate joyfully said “yes” to marrying Frank, and the two of them were overwhelmed with excitement.

It was a gorgeous day to be up in Charlottesville, Virginia to document and celebrate the surprise proposal at Trump Winery. Frank and I grew up down the street from each other, so I was especially excited to be trusted with documenting this important event for him. We talked about his proposal plan and he was so sweetly concerned about making sure everything was perfect for Kate.

I reserved a picnic table at Trump Winery and waited for the couple to arrive. After I saw them, I got up to leave (hide a few feet away) so they could take my seat, but in the few seconds it took for them to get to the table, a nearby family swooped in and took it first. I quickly scanned the area to find a more private area that also offered better lighting than at the table they sat at. After they had a few minutes to settle in and talk, I walked up, introduced myself, and offered a few photos. I walked them over to a more secluded spot and then asked Kate if I could take some photos of her by herself. She seemed nervous, but she was a natural model! I had her face away from me for a few poses, and at this point, Kate was realizing that this probably wasn’t a random photo shoot. When she turned back around, she was so surprised and excited to see Frank down on his knee and a ring in his hand!

It was time to take some engagement photos, but the surprises didn’t stop there. We went into the Grand Hall building, where Kate was greeted by her friends and family who all came to surprise her and celebrate the big day together. Both of their families are looking forward to having in-laws, and their friends are so happy for them. It was such a perfect day!
