Top 5 UF Grad Photo Locations
Best of Gainesville, FL
Graduation photos are a priority amongst many UF seniors. The campus is so beautiful and it’s always worth documenting your time at one of the best schools in the country! There is no shortage of great photo ops around campus, so I’ve rounded up a few of the most popular spots with lots of photos below!
1. The Stadium
One of the most iconic spots for grad photos! Even if you didn't spend your fall semesters cheering on the Gators in the Swamp, nothing says "Gator Nation" better than inside the stadium! The field isn't always open for photo access, but the bleachers always have some great spots for photos. There are plenty of spots to find great lighting during both sunrise and sunset sessions.
If you want photos here, you'll just want to make sure you book your session on a date that's unlikely to have a stadium closure. UF normally closes the stadium within a day or 2 of events so you'll want to check online for what's going on! Of course, football games are the main events the stadium closes for, and that includes the Orange and Blue Game which is usually in April, so keep that in mind!
2. Gator Walk
During football season, Gator Walk is packed with loyal UF fans, tailgating and cheering on the Gators. During graduation season, the brick walkway is packed with grads celebrating their years of hard work! It’s a wide, brick walkway lined with palm trees and is the perfect spot for champagne and confetti pops! The light looks great during both sunrise and sunset, but the crowds are much smaller in the morning.
3. Plaza of the Americas
Another beautifully lined walkway right next to Library West, the Plaza walkway gives a “nature-girl” vibe. The way the light filters through the Spanish moss is so dreamy! There is plenty of nature and shade to be found at Plaza, so it's the perfect backdrop for some stunning photos.
4. Murphree Courtyard
The arched entryway that leads to the Murphree Courtyard is the perfect backdrop for a more polished feel to your photos. The light is even during both sunrise and sunset, so there are no distracting hot spots in your photos. This is one of my favorite locations to photograph at!
5. UF Arch
At the corner of University Ave and 13th St., there is a big arch by the business school’s Heavener Hall. The arch features the UF seal on the ground in front of it as well as beautiful floral arrangements in the spring. Sunset sessions look best here, but the first few minutes of sunrise light are also beautiful!
Other Great Spots: Albert and Alberta Statue, Century Tower, The Bull Gator, Gator Globe, Heavener Hall, Lake Alice
Of course, there are many other beautiful spots for photos around campus. Work with your photographer to map out your session and make sure you get your most cherished memories documented at the places that mean the most to you!
