What to Expect When You Book A Session with Me

For most people, it’s not every day that you have professional photos taken. Whether you’re a senior graduate, a group of friends, a couple, or a family, the experience of finding and booking a photographer, the session itself, and seeing your final images can all feel overwhelming. Rest assured, I’m here to simplify the process and break down what will happen! This post is to show you what you can expect when you book a session with me :)

Before the Session:

I have a calendar on the booking page of my website for you to pick the best time for you amongst my available dates so we don't have to go back and forth trying to figure out a good time for both of us! Once you’ve picked your date, paid the retainer, and signed the contract, we will start discussing all the details for your session, like location and outfits! I’ll send you a questionnaire to learn a little more about you and how I can best serve you. I’ll be checking in during the days leading up to your session to make sure we’re on the same page, as well as discuss rescheduling plans if the weather is looking bleak. If you have any questions about anything before the day of the session, I’m just a quick email or text away!

During the Session:

The biggest question people have when they take photos is, “What do I do with my hands?!” Don’t worry! I’ll guide you through exactly what you should do and pose you in flattering positions so you love how you look in your photos! You can expect lots of smiling and laughing with me because I love images that feel fun, fresh, and joyful.

I love capturing a mix of sweet candid moments and posed photos, especially for my grads and my families. If you’re a senior or a friend group, you’ll be sure to reminisce while we walk around the places on campus that mean the most to you! If you have little kids, the best thing to do is let them lead the session and go with the flow — happy kids make for better photos! If you’re a couple, we'll be sure to get you some beautiful intimate moments together on camera!

After the Session:

As soon as I get home from the session, I upload and save all the RAW photos on an external hard drive so they're safe and backed up. I cull all of the photos and keep the best ones, then I'll edit them in my usual light and bright style.

At this point, a lot of photographers will deliver your online gallery and then you never hear from them again. With me, after the photos are ready, we’ll meet one more time in a video call to see a highlight of your images together! It's so much fun to relive the session with you, and it's the best when friends and family join the call too, and experience these moments with you! Then, I’ll deliver your full online gallery soon after that. You’ll be able to download your photos, share them on social media, and even purchase amazing, high-quality prints straight from the gallery!
