UF Grad Beth Blair
Beth Blair
Gainesville, Florida
As a UF grad photographer, and a UF alum myself, it is such a privilege to do what I love on the campus that means so much to me. Though the campus is huge, I typically shoot at the same locations over and over again — the stadium, Gator Walk, the UF arch, Murphree Courtyard, and the Plaza of the Americas. I love all of these spots, but it’s always fun to shoot at new spots every once in a while.
Part of Beth’s session was INSIDE Century Tower, which is where she’s spent a lot of her time playing the carillon for all of campus to hear throughout the day. Climbing up and down 11 flights of stairs as often as she does isn’t an easy feat, but she does it with such grace. The tower was such a cool and unique spot for grad photos! We also got to take more beautiful photos in the Murphree courtyard and at the school of nursing.
What I love the most about Beth’s session is that each of these places holds so much meaning to her. She didn’t want the typical spots just because of their popularity; she wanted to commemorate the places that shaped her college experience, and that speaks to the type of person she is. Beth is sentimental in all the sweetest ways and she has a heart of gold. Her service to others is inspiring and she is a strong leader who isn’t afraid to be different and follow her own path. Beth is bold yet gentle, and her friendly demeanor makes you feel immediately welcomed in her presence. She is funny and kind, and she somehow makes you feel important and loved without even having to say it. It’s been such a privilege to know her and work with her!
Beth, thank you for trusting me to capture your time here at UF and for being one of my first UF Campus Reps. It’s been so fun getting to know you! I know you have such a beautiful life ahead of you, and I can’t wait to watch you succeed in whatever you set your mind to!
